A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK ON THE PROGRAMMING
PHASE OF THE AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES AND APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE
AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES (CITY
OFFICE ADDITION) BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF
VERNON AND BOYLE ENGINEERING CORPORATION
perform the Programming Phase; and

WHEREAS, Samuel Kevin Wilson, Acting Director of Community
Services and Water has reported to the City Council of the city of
13
14 Vernon that the work on the Programming Phase has been completed and
15 recommends that the work be accepted; and
16
WHEREAS, the total contract amount for the Programming
Phase was Twenty-eight Thousand Two Hundred Thirty-two Dollars
17
18
($28,232.00), all of which has been paid.
WHEREAS, at the request of the City, Boyle Engineering
19
Corporation has submitted an amendment to said Agreement for
20
21 additional services described in Scope of Work, Vernon City Hall,
SChematic Design Phase Only, October 14, 1994; and
22
23
WHEREAS, Samuel Kevin Wilson has recommended that the City
Council approve said Amendment, at a cost not to exceed Forty
24
Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy-six Dollars and No Cents ($40,976.00);
25
and
26
27
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of the City of Vernon on
28 December 13, 1994 approved said recommendation and the estimate for
1 the additional services by Boyle Engineering corporation to perform
2 said Schematic Design Phase.
3 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
4 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
5 SECTION 1: The City Council of the city of Vernon hereby
6 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are
7 true and correct.
8 SECTION 2: The work of Boyle Engineering corporation on
9 the Programming Phase of the Agreement for Professional Services
10 (City Offices Addition) is hereby approved by the City of Vernon.
11 SECTION 3: The City Council of the city of Vernon hereby
12 approves the payments made to Boyle Engineering Corporation and
13 accepts the work as completed.
14 SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
15 approves Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement for Professional Services
16 (City Offices Addition), a copy of which has been presented to the
17 City Council concurrently with this resolution, and the City Council
18 hereby orders said Amendment to be received and filed by the City
19 Clerk.

SECTION 5: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said Amendment
for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.

16 RECITALS:
17 The Agreement for Professional Services dated October 5,
18 1993 between the City of Vernon and Boyle Engineering Corporation
19 is hereby amended to obtain the additional services described in
20 CONSULTANT's proposal for Scope of Work, Vernon City Hall,
21 Schematic Design Phase only, dated October 14, 1994, which is
22 attached hereto and made a part hereof as though set forth in
23 full. The cost associated with these services shall be in
24 accordance with the fee schedule included with said Scope of Work
25 and shall not exceed Forty Thousand Nine Hundred Seventy-six
26 Dollars ($40,976.00). Except as modified herein, all terms and
27 conditions set forth in the Agreement shall remain in full force
28 and effect.

Work includes:
Development of one floor plan and one site plan based on the programming report.
Development of two alternative elevations for city review. Two elevations of each building will be
presented to show intent of the design. Design of the building will match the exisiting building and
will be developed based on the City Staff' s inp~ts.
Prepare four elevations for the selected alternative.
Prepare a probable cost statement for one alternative.
Prepare a fully colored rendering of the site and proposed building for one alternative.
Meetings
Meeting will be limited to:
One kick-off meeting with City Staff
One meeting with Planning Commission and Building and Safety
One meeting with Public Works
Maximum three meetings with city review team
Maximum two presentations, one to council and one to public or staff.
Deliverables will include:
Site Plan at 1 :20 on vellum
Floor Plan at 118"=1'-0" or at requested scale on vellum
Elevations at 114"=1'-0" on vellum
Probable Cost Statement, hound
Up to 1 0 copies of each of the above deliverables
One rendered, perspective drawing of the structure. Mounted on a board
Schedule
Schedule completion 10 weeks from notice to proceed assuming timely reviews by City Staff
Responsibilities of the Owner shall include:
Timely Review of Submittals.
Coordination and scheduling of City staff reviewing the project.
Provide record drawings of existing building.
