Resolution No. 6566 , . .. . 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 letter RESOLUTION NO. 6566 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, THE COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT, THE LIGHT AND POWER DEPARTMENT, AND THE POLICE DEPARTMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by dated December 8, 1994, recommended to the Finance Committee that the property from the following departments be 9 10 declared surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon as said items are obsolete, inoperable, or in poor and irreparable condition and II 12 13 are therefor no longer useful to the needs of the City of Vernon: 1. Fire Department, more particularly described on 14 Exhibit "A", which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference; 15 16 2. Community Services Department, more particularly described on Exhibit "B", which is attached hereto and made a part 17 hereof by reference; 18 19 3. Light and Power Department, more particularly described on Exhibit "C", which is attached hereto and made a part 20 21 hereof by reference; 22 4. Police Department, more particularly described on 23 Exhibit "D", which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by 24 reference; and 25 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent, has 26 recommended that the said surplus property described in the 27 attached Exhibits "A", "B", "C" and liD" be disposed of by public 28 auction; and 1 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon 2 3 that the property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "c" 4 and "D" be sold as surplus 5 the Vernon City Code. 6 NOW, THEREFORE, BE 7 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: property pursuant to section 2.31 of IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 8 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does 9 hereby find and determine that the recitals contained hereinabove 10 are true and correct. -11 SECTION 2: In accordance with section 37350 of the 12 Government Code of the State of California, the City Council of 13 the city of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property 14 described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "C" and "D" is 15 surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon. 16 SECTION 3: The city AdministratorlCity clerk is hereby ~7 authorized to contract with an auction company for the sale of the 18 property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "c" and "D" 19 as surplus property. 20 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall 21 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and 22 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. 23 25 26 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of December, 1994. ~~~. ~eONIS C.
