A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AUTHORIZING THE REALLOCATION OF REVENUE
GENERATED BY SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS PROPOSITION
OF 1992 TO THE CITY OF BELL FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO
PRITCHARD FIELD OR OTHER QUALIFIED PROJECT

WHEREAS, Los Angeles County enacted the Safe Neighborhood
7
Parks Proposition of 1992 which provides funds to incorporated
cities of Los Angeles County for developing facilities for public
8
9
recreation; and

WHEREAS, Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open Space
responsibility
for

WHEREAS, the City of Vernon does not have any current
program for developing facilities for public recreation; and

WHEREAS, the City of Bell has parks and recreation

facilities which benefit the residents of the surrounding area,

including the City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bell has communicated that it is
willing to accept the funds allocated to the City of Vernon and use
20

them for
improvements to Pritchard Field which will benefit
23
rasidents of all surrounding communities; and
24
WHEREAS, Los Angeles County has authorized the transfer to
a neighboring community of the $47,099.00 allocated to the City of
25
26

Vernon under the Safe Neighborhood Parks Proposition of 1992.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE

CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby

finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are
true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
authorizes Los Angeles County to pay the City of Vernon its
allocation of $47,099.00 to the City of Bell for use in improvements
to Pritchard Field or in any other qualified parks and recreation

program.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk is directed to transmit a copy
of this resolution to the Los Angeles County Regional Park and Open
Space District, 433 South Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90020-

1975.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
14 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
15
16
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
