A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AGREEMENT BY AND
BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON AND ROLLINS CHEMPAK
INC.

WHEREAS, the City of Vernon by Resolution No. 6356 on
7
November 23, 1993, authorized the execution of an Environmental
8
Services Agreement with Rollins Chempak Inc. for disposal of
9
hazardous waste, which Agreement terminated on November 24, 1994;
10

and
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon, through normal operations at
the City Yard, accumulates certain amounts of materials classified
13
as hazardous waste; and
14
WHEREAS, because State law imposes a limit on the storage
15
16
of such materials, the City of Vernon must arrange for the
transportation and disposal of these materials by a licensed firm;
17

and
WHEREAS, Rollins Chempak Inc. has requested that said
Agreement be renewed for the y~ar 1995; and
WHEREAS, Rollins Chempak Inc. is both licensed and
20

experienced in transportation and disposing of such materials.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
hereby find and determine that the recitals contained hereinabove

are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby

1 approves the Environmental. Services Agreement, a copy of which has
2 been presented to the City Council concurrently with this
3 resolution, and the City Council hereby orders said Agreement to
4 be received and filed by the City Clerk.

SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
6 authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said Agreement
7 for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
8
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
9 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
10 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
