A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY
FROM THE COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT, THE
POLICE DEPARTMENT, THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND THE
CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S DEPARTMENT (REDEVELOPMENT)
PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE

WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by

letter dated May 25, 1995, recommended to the Finance Committee

that the property from the following departments be declared

surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon as said items are
obsolete, inoperable, or in poor and irreparable condition and are

therefor:cno longer useful to the needs of the City of Vernon:

Community Services Department, which property is

more particularly described on Exhibit "A", which is attached

hereto and made a part hereof by reference;

Police Department, which property' is more

particularly described on Exhibit "B", which is attached hereto

and made a part hereof by reference;

Fire Department, which property is more

particularly described on Exhibit "C", which is attached hereto

and made a part hereof by reference;

City Administrator's Department (Redevelopment),

which property is more particularly described on Exhibit "D",
24 which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference; and

WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent, has
recommended that the said surplus property described in the

attached Exhibits "A", "B", "c" and "D" be disposed of by public
28
auction; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon

that the property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "c"

and "D" be sold as surplus property pursuant to section 2.31 of
5
the Vernon City Code.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE

CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
9 hereby find and determine that the recitals contained hereinabove
10 are true and correct.

SECTION 2: In accordance with section 37350 of the
12 Government Code of the State of California, the city Council of
13 the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property
l4 described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "c" and "D" is
l5 surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 3: The City Administrator/City clerk is hereby
17 authorized to contract with an auction company for the sale of the
l8 property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "c" and "D"
19 as surplus property.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
2l certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
22 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
