RESOLUTION NO. 6706
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
A WATER RIGHT LICENSE BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF
VERNON AND DOMINGUEZ WATER CORPORATION WHICH
GRANTS THE CITY OF VERNON A LICENSE TO EXTRACT
1,500 ACRE-FEET OF THE ALLOWED PUMPING ALLOCATION
OF DOMINGUEZ WATER CORPORATION FOR THE PERIOD
JULY 1, 1995 THROUGH JUNE 30, 1996
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon and Dominguez Water Corporation
("Dominguez") wish to enter into an agreement providing for the City
9 to lease 1,500 acre-feet of the allowed pumping allocation of
10 Dominguez; and
11 WHEREAS, the Acting Director of community Services & Water
12 and Dominguez have negotiated a Water Right License for the period
13 of July 1, 1995 through June 30, 1996, with an agreed price of One
14 Hundred Ninety-Eight Thousand Dollars and No Cents ($198,000.00);
15 and
16 WHEREAS, a "Statement" of account dated September 25, 1995,
17 providing that the sum of One Hundred Ninety-Eight Thousand Dollars
18 and No Cents ($198,000.00) (for 1995-96) will be paid to Dominguez
19 has been submitted to the city and approved by the Acting Director
20 of community Services & Water; and

22 Operations, signed said Statement for Dominguez on October 12, 1995,
23 agreeing thereto.
24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
25 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City council of the City of Vernon hereby
27 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are
28 true and correct.

SECTION 2: The city council of the city of Vernon hereby
2 approves the Water Right License and the Statement, copies of which
3 have been presented to the City Council concurrently with this
4 resolution, and the City council hereby orders said documents to be
5 received and filed by the City Clerk.

SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
7 authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said License for,
8 and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.

SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of vernon hereby
10 authorizes the Acting Director of Community Services and Water to
11 execute said Statement for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
12
SECTION 5:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
13 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
14 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
15 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of November, 1995.
