A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF A ONE-YEAR EXTENSION OF CONTRACT NO. 478 BY
AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON AND R.F. DICKSON
COMPANY, INC.

6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 478, Street Sweeping, was awarded
7 to R.F. Dickson Company, Inc., by Resolution No. 5347 on December
8 9, 1986, for a term of three years from January 1, 1987 to
9 December 31, 1989, which has been extended annually since December
10 31, 1989; and
11 WHEREAS, the last extension of said contract was approved
12 by Resolution No. 6563 on December 20, 1994, and said contract
13 will expire on December 31, 1995, unless extended; and
14 WHEREAS, R.F. Dickson Company, Inc. has requested a one-
15 year extension of said contract until December 31, 1996; and
16 WHEREAS, said contr~t provides for annual percentage
17 adjustments in the bid price based on seventy-five percent (75%)
18 of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) as published on January 1 of
19 each year for such annual extensions after December 31, 1989; and
20 WHEREAS, R. F. Dickson Company, Inc. has requested a
21 percentage adjustment in the bid price in accordance with the
22 Consumer Price Index for January 1 to December 31, 1995; and
23 WHEREAS, the Acting Director of community Services has
24 recommended that said contract be extended for another year with a
25 price increase for 1996 adjusted to seventy-five percent (75%) of
26 the Consumer Price Index from January 1 to December 31, 1995.
27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
28 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
2 hereby find and determine that the recitals contained hereinabove
3 are true and correct.

SE~~ON 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
5 approves the Extension of Contract No. 478 for 1996 with R.F.
6 Dickson Company, Inc., a copy of which has been presented to the
7 City council concurrently with this resolution, and the City
8 Council hereby orders said Extension to be received and filed by
9 the City Clerk.

SEGTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
11 authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said Extension
12 for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
13
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
14 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
15 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
16 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of December, 1995.

between the City of Vernon and R.F. Dickson Company, Inc. is

hereby extended for a one (1) year period from January 1, 1996
through December 31, 1996 according to the section on "Contract
Extension" on page 3 of the SDecial provisions of said contract.
The consideration paid to R.F. Dickson Company, Inc.
shall consist of monthly payments in the amount of Four Thousand
One Hundred Forty-one Dollars and Forty Cents ($4,141.40), plus a
price adjustment in accordance with the Consumer Price Index for

January 1 to December 31, 1995 at seventy-five percent (75%) of
such Consumer Price Index, which adjustment will be determined
when the index changes are issued.
