A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON COMMENDING LARRY R. BURDETT FOR HIS MANY
YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF VERNON

WHEREAS, LARRY R. BURDETT has been employed by the City
7
of Vernon since February 1, 1965; and
8
WHEREAS, LARRY R. BURDETT will retire from the service of
the City of Vernon on February 16, 1996; and
WHEREAS, LARRY R. BURDETT was hired by the City of Vernon
9

as an Auto Hoseman in the Vernon Fire Department on February 1,
1965, advanced to Engineer on June 1, 1974, elevated to Captain on
12
13
December 30, 1979, and promoted to Battalion Chief on March 1,
14
1988; and
15
16
WHEREAS, LARRY R. BURDETT has faithfully served the City
of Vernon for approximately 31 years, and his loss will be deeply
17
felt by the city of Vernon.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon takes
this opportunity to commend LARRY R. BURDETT for his many years of
devoted service to the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon wishes
21

LARRY R. BURDETT continued success in whatever endeavors he may
25
undertake.

SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon shall
27
certify to the passage of this resolution and present a certified
28

copy thereof to LARRY R. BURDETT and that thereupon and thereafter
2
the same shall be in full force and effect.
