A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON COMMENDING MARVIN R. KING FOR HIS MANY
YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF VERNON

WHEREAS, MARVIN R. KING has be~n employed by the City of
7
Vernon since November 11, 1965; and
8
WHEREAS, MARVIN R. KING will retire from the service of
9
the City of Vernon on May 2, 1996; and
WHEREAS, MARVIN R. KING was hired by the city of Vernon
10
11
as a utilityman IV in the Community Services Department on
12
November 11, 1965, advanced to utilityman III on May 1, 1969,
raised to utilityman lIon July 1, 1973, received a Water
13
14
Treatment Operator certificate Grade II from the state of
California Department of Health on July 1981, and elevated to
utilityman I on July 10, 1983; and
WHEREAS, MARVIN R. KING has faithfully served the City of
15
16

18
Vernon for approximately 30~ years, and his loss will be deeply
19
felt by the City of Vernon.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
21
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon takes
23
this opportunity to commend MARVIN R. KING for his many years of
24
devoted service to the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the city of Vernon wishes
25
26
MARVIN R. KING continued success in whatever endeavors he may
27
undertake.

certify to the passage of this resolution and present a certified
SECTION 3: The City Council of the city of Vernon shall

copy thereof to MARVIN R. KING and that thereupon and thereafter

the same shall be in full force and effect.
