RESOLUTION NO. 6798
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF SECURITY PAVING
COMPANY, INC. IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 529
OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, Security Paving Company, Inc. was awarded
6 Contract No. 529 for work on Resurfacing of Various Streets,
7 pursuant to Resolution No. 6754 of the City of Vernon; and
8 WHEREAS, Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of
9 Community Services has reported to the City Council of the
10 City of Vernon on May 30, 1996, that said work has been
11 completed and recommends that the work be accepted and
12 payment be made to the Contractor in accordance with the
13 agreement.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
15 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
16 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
17 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
18 hereinabove are true and correct.
19 SECTION 2: The work of Security Paving Company,
20 Inc., pursuant to Contract No. 529 is hereby approved by the
21 City ot Vernon.
22 SECTION 3: The total contract amount is Two
23 Hundred Twenty Six Thousand One Hundred Sixty-nine Dollars
24 Five Cents ($226,169.05). There is now due to the
25 Contractor a final partial payment totaling Two Hundred
26 Three Thousand Five Hundred Fifty-two Dollars Fourteen Cents
27 ($203,552.14), which is payable at this time, and the
28 remaining ten percent (10%) of the total contract amount, or
1 the sum of Twenty Two Thousand Six Hundred Sixteen Dollars
2 Ninety Cents ($22,616.90) is payable thirty-five days after
3 the adoption of this resolution.

SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Vernon
5 hereby directs payment of said sums as set forth to Security
6 Paving Company, Inc., and instructs the City Clerk to file a
7 not.ice of completion with the County Recorder.
8 SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
9 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
10 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be full force and
11 effect.
12 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of June, 1996.
