RESOLUTION NO. 6803
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 533 OF THE
CITY OF VERNON FOR VARIOUS STREETS IMPROVEMENT
AND AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH.
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City
6 Council of the City of Vernon Contract No. 533 for
7 Various Streets Improvement; and
8 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon
9 has determined that it is in the best interests of the City
10 of Vernon that said contract be advertised in accordance
11 with applicable State law.
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
13 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
15 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
16 hereinabove are true and correct.
17 SECTION 2: Contract No. 533, Various Streets
18 Improvement, is hereby approved by the City Council of the
19 City of Vernon.
20 SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
21 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of
22 the City of Vernon a copy of said contract.
23 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
24 is hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting
25 sealed proposals or bids for Various Streets Improvement
26 in accordance with Contract No. 533 and in accordance with
27 this resolution.

SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general
, ,
1 circulation printed, published or circulated in the City of
2 Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said
3 notice, or cause the same to be posted, in three of the most
4 public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest
5 corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast
6 corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the
7 bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of the City of
8 Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City.

SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
10 is hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the
11 first posting of said notice shall be not less than ten (10)
12 days before the opening of the bids for the proposed
13 contract. Said notice shall provide that sealed proposals
14 or bids will be received by the City of Vernon at the office
15 of the City Clerk of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe
16 Avenue, Vernon, CA 90058-0805, until the hour of 8:00 a.m.
17 on the 11th day of July, 1996.
18 SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
19 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
20 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
21 effect.
