RESOLUTION NO. 6804
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF CLARKE CONTRACTING
CORPORATION FOR 37th STREET SEWER REPAIR IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 532 OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID
CONTRACT
6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 532 of the City of Vernon
7 was approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon
8 pursuant to Resolution No. 6793, and sealed bids were opened
9 on June 13, 1996; and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Samuel Kevin
11 Wilson, Director of Community Services, who has reported to
12 the City Council under the date of June 18, 1996,
13 recommending that Contract No. 532 for 37th Street Sewer
14 Repair be executed with Clarke Contracting Corporation on
15 the basis of its bid in the sum of Fifty-two Thousand Nine
16 Hundred Thirty-three Dollars ($52,933.00), being the lowest
17 responsible bid meeting the contract requirements.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
19 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
20 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
21 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
22 hereinabove are true and correct.
23 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
24 does hereby award Contract No. 532 to Clarke Contracting
25 Corporation, in accordance with the recommendation of Samuel
26 Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services, and authorizes
27 the Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf of the City.
28 SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to

1 ~xecutionofthe .cofitract and the City Treasurer is hereby
2 directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or
3 certified checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt
4 of an executed contract from Clarke Contracting Corporation
5 accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.
6 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
7 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
8 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
9 effect.
