A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON COMMENDING DON WILEY GREEN FOR HIS MANY
YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF VERNON

WHEREAS, DON WILEY GREEN has been employed by the City of
7
Vernon since JUly 1, 1973; and
8
WHEREAS, DON WILEY GREEN will retire from the service of
9
the City of Vernon on June 30, 1996; and
10
WHEREAS, DON WILEY GREEN was hired by the City of Vernon
11
as a Policeman in the Vernon Police Department on July 1, 1973,
12
advanced to Sergeant on August 1, 1980, awarded an "Intermediate
Certificate" by POST on June 14, 1981, raised to Lieutenant on
13
14
September 29, 1986, and awarded the "Advanced certificate" by POST
15
16
on April 1, 1993; and
WHEREAS, DON WILEY GREEN has faithfully served the City
17
of Vernon for approximately 23 years, and his loss will be deeply
18
felt by the City of Vernon.
19
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
20
21
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon takes
this opportunity to commend DON WILEY GREEN for his many years of
22
23
devoted service to the City of Vernon.
24
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon wishes
25 DON WILEY GREEN continued success in whatever endeavors he may
26 undertake.
27
SECTION 3: The City council of the city of Vernon shall
28
1 certify to the passage of this resolution and present a certified
2 copy thereof to DON WILEY GREEN and that thereupon and thereafter
3 the same shall be in full force and effect.
4 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of June, 1996.
