RESOLUTION NO. 6819
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF INSITUFORM
SOUTHWEST FOR VERNON AVENUE SEWER REHABILITATION
IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 531 (REVISED) OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF
SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS, Contract No. 531 (Revised) of the City
7 of Vernon was approved by the City Council of the City of
8 Vernon pursuant to Resolution No. 6802, and sealed bids were
9 opened on July 11, 1996; and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Samuel Kevin
11 Wilson, Director of Community Services, who has reported to
12 the City Council under the date of July 16, 1996
13 recommending that Contract No. 531 (Revised) for Vernon
14 Avenue Sewer Rehabilitation be executed with Insituform
15 Southwest on the basis of its bid in the sum of Forty-one
16 Thousand Six Hurtdred Twenty Dollars ($41,620.00), for a
17 Folded and Re-Formed PVC Pipe Liner, being the lowest
18 responsible bid meeting the contract requirements.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
20 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
22 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
23 hereinabove are true and correct.
24 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
25 does hereby award Contract No. 531 (Revised) to Insituform
26 Southwest, in accordance with the recommendation of Samuel
27 Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services, and authorizes
28 the Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf of the City.

SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
2 execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
3 directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or
4 certified checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt
5 of an executed contract from Insituform Southwest
6 accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.
7 SECTION 4,: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
8 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
9 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
10 effect.
