A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF A NATURAL GAS SALES AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN
THE CITY OF VERNON AND PANENERGY GAS SERVICES,
INC.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon by
Resolution No. 6528 on July 11, 1995, approved and authorized the
7

execution of a Natural Gas Sales Agreement with Associated Gas
9
Services, Inc. (now PanEnergy Gas Services, Inc.) for the period
10
August 1, 1995 to July 31, 1996; and
11
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has need of the services of
12
PanEnergy Gas Services, Inc. to sell natural gas on favorable
13
terms to the City of Vernon during a one-year term from August I,
14
1996 through July 31, 1997 and month to month thereafter until
15
terminated; and
16
WHEREAS, the Director of Light and Power of the City of
17
Vernon has recommended that an agreement with PanEnergy Gas
Services, Inc. be approved, effective August 1, 1996.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
22 hereby find and determine that the recitals contained hereinabove
23 are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
25
approves the Natural Gas Sales Agreement dated July 8, 1996, a
26
copy of which has been presented to the City Council concurrently
27
with this resolution, and the City Council hereby orders said
28
Agreement to be received and filed by the City Clerk.

authorizes the Mayor and the city Clerk to execute said Agreement
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon h~reby
3
for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall

certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
