RESOLUTION NO. 6824
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF SECURITY PAVING
COMPANY FOR VARIOUS STREETS IMPROVEMENT IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 533 OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID
CONTRACT
6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 533 of the City of Vernon
7 was approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon
8 pursuant to Resolution No. 6803, and sealed bids were opened
9 on July 11, 1996; and

WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Samuel Kevin
11 Wilson, Director of Community Services, who has reported to
12 the City Council under the date of July 16, 1996,
13 recommending that Contract No. 533 for Various Streets
14 Improvement be executed with Security Paving Company on the
15 basis of its bid in the sum of Five Hundred Twenty-five
16 Thousand Sixty-two Dollars Thirty-seven Cents ($525,062.37),
17 being the lowest responsible bid meeting the contract
18 requirements.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
20 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
21 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
22 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
23 hereinabove are true and correct.
24 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
25 does hereby award Contract No. 533 to Security Paving
26 Company, in accordance with the recommendation of Samuel
27 Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services, and authorizes
28 the Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf of the City.

SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
2 execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
3 directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or
4 certified checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt
5 of an executed contract from Security Paving Company
6 accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.
7 SE9TION 4: The City Clerk of the Ci ty of Vernon
8 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
9 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
10 effect.
