RESOLUTION NO. 6833

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES TO
RENDER SPECIFIED SERVICES TO THE CITY RELATING
TO THE CONDUCT OF A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 10, 1996

WHEREAS, a Special Municipal Election is to be held in

the City of Vernon, California, on December 10, 1996; and
WHEREAS, in the course of conduct of the election it is
8
9
necessary for the City to request services of the County; and
WHEREAS, all necessary expenses in performing these
10
services shall be paid by the City of Vernon.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
12
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
15
hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: Pursuant to the provisions of Section 22003
of the Elections Code of the State of California, the city Council
18
19
requests the Board of Supervisors of the County to permit the
County Election Department to prepare and furnish to the City for
20
use in conducting the election the computer record of the names
21
22
and addresses of all eligible registered voters in the City in
order that the City may print labels to be attached to self-mailer
sample ballot pamphlets. The County Election Department will also
furnish to the City printed indices of the voters to be used by
the precinct board at the polling place and will make available to
the City additional election equipment and assistance according to

state law.

SECTION 3: The City shall reimburse the County for
2 services performed when the work is completed and upon
3 presentation to the City of a properly approved bill.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk is directed to forward without
5 delay two (2) certified copies of this resolution to the Board of
6 Supervisors and one (1) certified copy of this resolution to the
7 County Election Department.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
