A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE CANVASS OF THE
SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 10, 1996, BE MADE BY THE CITY
CLERK

6 WHEREAS, a special municipal election will be held and
7 conducted in the City of Vernon, California, on Tuesday, December
8 10, 1996, as required by law; and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires
10 the canvass of the election to be made by the City Clerk as the
11 city elections official.
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
13 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
15 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are
16 true and correct.
SECTION 2: Pursuant to section 10263 of the Elections
17
18 Code of the State of California, the canvass of the special
19 municipal election to be held in the City is hereby ordered to be
20 made by the City Clerk.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk shall complete the canvass of
22 the election prior to the Tuesday following the election, and
23 shall certify the results to the City Council on December 17,
24 1996.

SECTION 4: The city Clerk shall certify to the passage
2 of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be
3 in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of August, 1996.
