RESOLUTION NO.6Q56
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF CLARKE
CONTRACTING CORPORATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 532 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, Clarke Contracting Corporation was

Repair, pursuant to Resolution No. 6804 of the City of

awarded Contract No. 532 for work on 37th Street Sewer
Vernon; and
WHEREAS, Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of
10
Community Services has reported to the City Council of the
11

City of Vernon on, September 24, 1996 that said work has
been completed and recommends that the work be accepted and
payment be made to the Contractor in accordance with the
14
agreement.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:
The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained

hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2:
The work of Clarke Contracting
Corporation, pursuant to Contract No. 532 is hereby approved
by the City of Vernon.
SECTION 3:
The total contract amount is Fifty-two
Thousand Nine Hundred Thirty-three Dollars ($52,933.00).

There is now due to the Contractor a final partial payment
totaling Forty-seven Thousand Six Hundred Thirty-nine
Dollars and Seventy Cents($47,639.70), which is payable at

1 this time, and the remaining ten percent (10%) of the total
2 contract amount, or the sum of Five Thousand Two Hundred
3 Ninety-three Dollars and Thirty Cents ($5,293.30) is payable
4 thirty-five days after the adoption of this resolution.
5 SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Vernon
6 hereby directs payment of said sums as set forth to Clarke
7 Contracting Corporation and instructs the City Clerk to file
8 a notice of completion with the County Recorder.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
10 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
11 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be full force and
12 effect.
