Resolution No. 6865 ~ . 1 RESOLUTION NO. 6865 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE LIGHT AND POWER DEPARTMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE 4 5 6 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by 7 letter dated January 9, 1995, recommended to the Finance Committee 8 that the property consisting of 1,260 barrels (60 gallons) of diesel fuel from the Light and Power Department be declared 9 10 surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon as said fuel is no 11 longer needed by the City of Vernon; and WHEREAS, the Light and Power Department property is 12 13 described on Exhibit "A", which is attached hereto and made a part 14 hereof by reference; and 15 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent, has 16 recommended that the said surplus property described in the attached Exhibit "A" be disposed of by calling for bids; and 17 18 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has 19 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon 20 that the property described in the attached Exhibit "A" be sold as 21 surplus property pursuant to section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code. 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 23 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: 24 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does 25 hereby find and determine that the recitals contained hereinabove 26 are true and correct. 27 SECTION 2: In accordance with section 37350 of the 28 Government Code of the State of California, the City Council of 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 . . 1 the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property 2 described in the attached Exhibit "A" is surplus to the needs of 3 the City of Vernon. 4 SECTION 3: The City Administrator/City Clerk is hereby authorized to call for bids for the sale of the property described 5 6 in the attached Exhibit "A" as surplus property. 7 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall 8 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and 9 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. 10 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of October, 1996. ~~. ~~ MALKENHORST, City Clerk 11 12 13 A/f: BRUCE V. -2- 1 STATE OF CALIFORNIA ) ) ss COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES ) 2 3 4 I, BRUCE V.
