RESOLUTION NO. 6938
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF SECURITY PAVING
COMPANY, INC. IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO.
533 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, Security Paving Company, Inc. was awarded
Contract No. 533 for work on Various Streets Improvement
8 pursuant to Resolution No. 6824 of the City of Vernon; and
9 WHEREAS, Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of
10 Community Services has reported to the City Council of the
11
City of Vernon on April 9, 1997, that said work has been
12 completed and recommends that the work be accepted and
payment be made to the Contractor in accordance with the
13
14 agreement.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The work of Security Paving Company,
Inc. pursuant to Contract No. 533 is hereby approved and
accepted by the City Council of the City of Vernon.
SECT~ON 3: The total contract amount is Four
Hundred Seventy~six Thousand Seven Hundred Forty-nine
25 Dollars and Ninety-one Cents ($476,749.91).

There is now
due to the Contractor a final partial payment totaling Five
Thousand Three Hundred Sixty-four Dollars ($5,364.00) which
is payable at this time, and the remaining ten percent (10%)

1 of the total contract amount, or the sum of Forty-seven
2 Thousand Six Hundred Seventy-four Dollars and Ninety-nine
3 Cents ($47,674.99) is payable thirty-five days after the
4 adoption of this resolution.

SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Vernon
6 hereby directs payment of said sums as set forth to Security
7 Paving Company, Inc. and instructs the City Clerk to file a
8 notice of completion with the County Recorder.
9 SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
10 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
11 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be full force and
12 effect.
13 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of April, 1997.
