WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City

Council of the City of Vernon Contract No. 535 for Traffic

Signal Modernization-Emergency Vehicle Preemption; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon
has determined that it is in the best interests of the City
of Vernon that said contract be advertised in accordance
12 with applicable State law.

SECTION 1:
The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTI.oN 2:
Contract No. 535, Traffic Signal
Modernization-Emergency Vehicle preemption, is hereby
20 approved and accepted by the City Council of the City of
21 Vernon.

SECTlON 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
23 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of
24

the City of Vernon a copy of said contract.
SECTION 4:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
is hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting
27 sealed proposals or bids for Traffic Signal Modernization....

Emergency Vehicle Preemption in accordance with Contract No.
..
1 535 and in accordance with this resolution.
2 SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general
3 circulation printed, published or circulated in the City of
4 Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said
5 notice, or cause the same to be posted, in three of the most
6 public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest
7 corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast
8 corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the
9 bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of the City of
10 Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City.
11 SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
12 is hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the
13 first posting of said notice shall be not less than ten (10)
14 days before the opening of the bids for the proposed
15 contract. Said notice shall provide that sealed proposals
16 or bids will be received by the City of Vernon at the office
17 of the City Clerk of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa
18 Fe Avenue, Vernon, CA 90058-0805, until the hour of 2: 00
19 p. m. on the 6th day of May, 1997.

NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS (BIDS)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Vernon, (hereinafter
"City") invites and will receive sealed proposals (bids) up to the hour
of two (2) o'clock p.m. on May 6, 1997 for the furnishing to said City
of all transportation, equipment, materials, supplies and services
necessary for
Traffic Signal MOdernization,
Emergency Vehicle Preemption proposals (bids) shall be submitted to:
City Clerk
City of Vernon
4305 Santa Fe Avenue
Vernon, CA 90058
At said time, proposals will be publicly opened and announced
at the offices of the City.
Said bids shall conform to and be
responsi ve to the Contract Documents for said work as heretofore
provided by said City and must be accompanied by the security referred
to therein.
The City Council of the City reserves the right to reject any
and all bids.
Copies of the Contract Documents are on file and may be
examined in the office of the City located at:

4305 Santa Fe Avenue
Vernon, CA 90058
Copies may be obtained from said office with a nonrefundable
deposit of $15.00 per set. ($25.00 if mailed).
