A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT FOR A ONE-YEAR
EXTENSION OF CONTRACT NO.' 528 FOR 1997/1998 BY
AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON AND ARROW
STRAIGHT MARKING AND STRIPING SERVICE

WHEREAS, Contract No. 528, Traffic Pavement Striping
6
1996, was awarded to Arrow Straight Marking and Striping service,
7
by Resolution No. 6718 on November 21, 1995, for a term of one
8
year; and
9
WHEREAS, said contract provided for annual cost
10
increases based on the consumer price index and for annual
11
extensions thereof; and
12
WHEREAS, said contract expired December 31, 1996, by its
13
terms, and Arrow Straight Marking and Striping Service has
14
requested a one-year extension of said contract; and
15
WHEREAS, Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services
16
has recommended that the said contract be extended to May 31,
17
1998, and that the work performed by Arrow Straight Marking and
Striping Service from January 31, 1997 through May 3, 1997, be
ratified.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
23 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
24 hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
26 hereby ratifies the work performed by Arrow straight Marking and
27 Striping Service and the payment therefor from January 1, 1997
28 through May 31, 1997.

SECTION 3: The City Council of the city of Vernon
2 hereby approves the Amendment for Extension of Contract No. 528,
3 (1997/1998), a copy of which has been presented to the City
4 Council concurrently with this resolution, and the city Council
5 hereby orders said Amendment to be received and filed by the City
6 Clerk.

SECTION 4: The city council of the City of Vernon
8 hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said
9 Amendment for, and on behalf of, the city of Vernon.
10
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
11 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
12 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
13 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of May, 1997.

AMENDMENT FOR
EXTENSION OF CONTRACT NO. 528
1997/1998
That certain Contract No. 528, Traffic Pavement striping
1996, entered into by and between the City of Vernon and Arrow
straight Marking and striping Service, is hereby extended for a
one (1) year period from June 1, 1997 to May 31, 1998 according to
the Special Provisions of said contract.
Arrow straight Marking and striping service, waives the
Consumer Price Index (CPI) adjustment for January 1, 1997 through
May 31, 1997. Each of the bid prices on pages C-2 through C-4 of
Contract No. 528 is amended to add a CPI increase of 1.2% for the
period June 1, 1997 through May 31, 1998.
The "Contract Period" set forth on page F-6 of the
Special provisions to said Contract is amended to read: "This
contract shall expire on May 31, 1998."
In all other respects the terms and conditions of
Contract No. 528, Traffic Pavement striping Contract 1996, shall
remain in effect.
