A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF C.T. & F., INC.
FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODERNIZATION-EMERGENCY
VEHICLE PREEMPTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT
NO. 535 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE
EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT

6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 535 o.f the City of Vernon
7 was approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon
8 pursuant to Resolution No. 6939, and sealed bids were opened
9 on May 6, 1997; and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Samuel Kevin
11 Wilson, Director of Community Services, who has reported to
12 the City Council under the date of May 12, 1997,
13 recommending that Contract No. 535 for Traffic Signal
14 Modernization-Emergency Vehicle Preemption be executed with
15 C. T. & F., Inc.. on the basis of its bid in the sum of One
16 Hundred Sixty- seven Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty-seven
17 Dollars ($167,867.00), being the lowest responsible bid
18 meeting the contract requirements.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
20 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
21 SE~TION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
22 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
23 hereinabove are true and correct.
24 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
25 does hereby award Contract No. 535 to C. T. & F., Inc., in
26 accordance with the recommendation of Samuel Kevin Wilson,
27 Director of Community Services, and authorizes the Mayor to
28 execute said Contract on behalf of the City.

1 SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
2 execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
3 directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or
4 certified checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt
5 of an executed contract from C.T. & F., Inc. accompanied by
6 all required bonds and certificates.
7 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
8 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
9 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
