A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE
AGREEMENT FOR CONTRACTUAL SERVICES BY AND
BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON AND EDWARD F.
LEBLANC

WHEREAS, the City of Vernon previously executed an

Agreement for Contractual Services ("Agreement") with Edward F.
10
LeBlanc, pursuant to Resolution No. 6892, which was approved by
11
the City Council of the City of Vernon on December 17, 1996; and
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon and Edward F. LeBlanc desire
to amend said Agreement to extend the term of the Agreement from
12

July 1, 1997 through and including December 31, 1997.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the city of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
18

hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the city of Vernon
21
hereby approves Amendment No. 1 to the Agreement for Contractual
22
Services, a copy of which has been presented to the City Council
23
concurrently with this resolution, and the city Council hereby
24
orders said Amendment to be received and filed by the City Clerk.
25
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon
26
hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said
27
Amendment for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
2 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
3 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

Municipal Corporation,
hereinafter referred to as
"CITY",
AND
EDWARD F. LEBLANC, an
individual, hereinafter
referred to as "CONTRACTOR".
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, CITY AND CONTRACTOR entered into an
Agreement for Contractual Services on December 30, 1996,
which provided for expiration on June 30, 1997.
WHEREAS, CITY and CONTRACTOR desire to extend said
Agreement through and including December 31, 1997.
NOW, THEREFORE, FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION OF THE
MUTUAL PROMISES, COVENANTS AND CONDITIONS HEREIN CONTAINED,
IT IS MUTUALLY AGREED BY AND BETWEEN THE PARTIES HERETO TO

Honorable Members:
The Agreement for Consulting Services with Edward F. LeBlanc will
expire June 30, 1997, and staff of the Light and Power Department is
requesting that the agreement be extended for a period of six months
in order that Mr. LeBlanc's services may be utilized for certain
additional transitional responsibilities relating to utility services.
The agreement has been reviewed by the City Attorney, and it is hereby
recommended that approval be granted to extend the agreement from July
I, 1997 through December 31, 1997, at a cost not to exceed $25,000.

I recommend that the term of the Agreement for Contractual Services
By and Between The City of Vernon and Edward F. LeBlanc be extended
from July 1, 1997 through and including December 31, 1997. This
change (see attached Amendment No.1) will allow us to have Mr.
LeBlanc's services available for any additional transitional
responsibilities as needed. Funds have been budgeted for this
purpose.
