RESOLUTION NO. 7042
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE
BID OF DE LA CRUZ CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR
VERNON GAS DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM PHASE II
IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 539 OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE
EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS, Contract No. 539 of the City of Vernon
was approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon

pursuant to Resolution No. 7024, and sealed bids were opened

on October 16, 1997; and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Samuel Kevin
Wilson, Director of Community Services & Water, who has

reported to the City Council under the date of October 16,
14
1997, recommending that Contract No. 539 for Vernon Gas
Distribution System Phase II be executed with De La Cruz
15

Four Million Fifty-four Thousand Six Hundred Twenty-six
17

Construction, Inc. on the basis of its bid in the sum of
Dollars and Seventy Cents ($4,054,626.70), being the lowest

responsible bid meeting the contract requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby. award Contract No. 539 to De La Cruz
Construction, Inc., in accordance with the recommendation of
Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services & Water,
1 and authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute said
2 Contract on behalf of the City.
3 SECTION 3: All other bids are r~jected subject to
4 execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
5 directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or
6 certified checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt
7 of an executed contract from De La Cruz Construction, Inc.
8 accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.
9 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
10 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
11 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
12 effect.
13 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of November,
