A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE
BID OF LETNER ROOFING COMPANY FOR
POWER PLANT REROOFING IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 542 OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF
SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS,
Contract No. 542 of the City of Vernon
pursuant to Resolution No. 7012, and sealed bids were opened
9 on October 20, 1997; and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Samuel Kevin
11 Wilson, Director of Community Services & Water, who has
12 reported to the City Council under the date of
13 October 20, 1997, recommending that Contract No. 542 for
14 Power Plant Reroofing be executed with Letner Roofing
15 Company on the basis of its bid in the sum of One Hundred
16 Forty-two Thousand Dollars ($142,000.00), being the lowest
17 responsible bid meeting the contract requirements.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
19 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
20 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
21 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
22 hereinabove are true and correct.
23 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
24 does hereby award Contract No. 542 to Letner Roofing
25 Company, in accordance with the recommendation of Samuel
26 Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services & Water, and
27 authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute said Contract
28 on behalf of the City.

SeCTION ~: All other bids are rejected subject to
2 execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
3 directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or
4 certified checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt
5 of an executed contract from Letner Construction Company
6 accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.
7 SEqTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
8 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
9 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
10 effect.
