A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 6974, WHICH
APPROVED A BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1997-
1998, TO REFLECT INCREASES

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 6974 was adopted by the City
7
Council of the City of Vernon on June 25, 1997; and
8
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 6974 approved a budget for the
fiscal year 1997-1998; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes
to amend the budget for fiscal year 1997-1998 to reflect certain

increased requirements for the fiscal year for the Equipment
13
Replacement Fund (Autos - Fund 175) of the City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, the budget increase approved by this Resolution
will not cause the budget of the City to exceed the general
14

government appropriations limit for fiscal year 1997-1998
established by Resolution No. 6975.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF

THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon finds
and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
21
and correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby approves increasing the Capital Equipment budget for the
Equipment Replacement Fund (Auto-Fund 175), from $290,010.00 to
$938,988.00 to reflect Fire Department--Fire and Other Operations

purchase of an aerial ladder truck in fiscal year 1997-1998. The
27
sum of $648,978.00 shall be transferred from the fund balance to

the Equipment Replacement Fund (Autos - Fund 175) for this
purpose.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the foregoing is a necessary
increase in expenditure for Capital Equipment budget for the
Equipment Replacement Fund (Autos - Fund 175) and that the City
Council of the City of Vernon further finds and determines that
the same is in the best interests of the City 'of Vernon and
constitutes a reasonable expenditure of public funds.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to file this resolution with the County Auditor of
Los Angeles County within sixty (60) days after its passage, to
fulfill the purposes of SS 53900 and 53901 of the Government Code
of the State of California with respect to this amendment.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
