RESOLUTION NO. 7056

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON REJECTING THE BID RECEIVED FOR
CONTRACT NO. 546 OF THE CITY OF VERNON FOR
STREET SWEEPING

WHEREAS, on or about November 18, 1997, the City council
of the City of Vernon authorized an advertisement for bids for
7

Contract No. 546 for street sweeping services; and
WHEREAS, one bid was received in response to said
9
10
advertisement for an amount in excess of the Department's
11
estimate; and
12
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon,
pursuant to section 2.27 of the Code of the City of Vernon, finds
13
14
and determines that it is in the public interest and necessity
that said bid be rejected and that the City procure such services
by negotiated agreement without further compliance with the
15
16
17
procedures set forth in the City's Purchasing Ordinance.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
19
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
21 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
22 hereinabove are true and correct.
23
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
24 hereby rejects the bid received for Contract No. 546 for street
25 sweeping services and orders that such services be procured by
26 negotiated agreement without further compliance with the
27 purchasing ordinance, as permitted by section 2.27 of the Code of
28 the City of Vernon.

SECTION 3: The city Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
2 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
3 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
4 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of December, 1997.
