Resolution No. 7058 1 RESOLUTION NO. 7058 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AMENDING SECTION 26(e) (4) ON PAGE 39 AND SCHEDULE II, EXHIBIT "B," PAGES 2, 6, 7, 8 AND 10, OF RESOLUTION NO. 6976, WHICH FIXED THE COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZED CERTAIN EXPENSE ALLOWANCES 4 5 6 7 WHEREAS, Resolution No. 6976 was adopted by the City 8 Council of the City of Vernon on June 25, 1997, to be effective on July 1, 1997; and WHEREAS, the city Council of the City of Vernon wishes to amend section 26(e)(4), page 39, of'Resolution No. 6976 and to amend pages 2, 6, 7, 8 and 10 of Schedule II, Exhibit "B" of said 9 10 11 12 13 Resolution by (i) adding the position of Planning Assistant in the 14 Department of Community Services with the appropriate salary 15 scale; (ii) deleting the position of Generation & Electrical 16 Support Superintendent (Step Y) in the Light & Power Department; (iii) changing the position of Diesel Operator IV in the Light & 17 18 Power Department to Maintenance Technician and changing the salary 19 scale for said position; (iv) increasing the salary scale for the positions of Power Resource Coordinator and Senior Electronics 20 Technician in the Light & Power Department; and (v) increasing the 21 22 salary scale for the positions of systems Manager, systems 23 Supervisor, Systems Coordinator I and Resource Scheduler in the 24 Light & Power Department. 25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 26 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: 27 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained hereinabove 28 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 are true and correct. SECTION 2: Effective December 21, 1997, section 26(e) (4), page 39, of Resolution No. 6976 is hereby modified to read as follows: (4) leMA Retirement. The City shall deposit the sum of $8,000.00 on January 1 of 1998 to the ICMA Retirement Corporation as deferred compensation, all of said amount shall be credited to his individual account, and said $8,000.00 shall be deposited each and every year thereafter on or about January 1 for as long as employee is employed by the City; SECTION 3: Effective December 21, 1997, Schedule II, Exhibit "B," page 2 of Resolution No. 6976 applicable to the Department of Community services is hereby amended to add the position of Planning Assistant with an appropriate salary schedule as indicated on the amended page 2 of Schedule II, Exhibit "B," which is attached hereto as Attachment "A" and made a part hereof. SECTION 4: Effective December 21, 1997, Schedule II, Exhibit "B," pages 6, 7, 8 and 10 of Resolution No. 6976 applicable to the Light & Power Department is hereby amended to: (i) delete the position of Generation & Electrical Support Superintendent (step Y) as indicated on the amended page 6 of Schedule II, Exhibit "B," which is attached hereto as Attachment "B" and made a part hereof; and (ii) change the position of Diesel Operator IV to Maintenance Technician with the appropriate salary scale as indicated on the amended page 7 of Schedule II, Exhibit "B," which -2- 1 is attached hereto as Attachment "c" and made a part hereof; and 2 (iii) increase the salary scale for the positions of 3 Power Resource Coordinator and senior Electronics Technician as 4 indicated on the amended page 8 of Schedule II, Exhibit "B," which 5 is attached hereto as Attachment "D" and made a part hereof; and 6 (iv) increase the salary scale for the positions of 7 Systems Manager, Systems Supervisor, Systems Coordinator I and 8 Resource Scheduler as indicated on the amended page 10 of Schedule 9 II, Exhibit "B," which is attached hereto as Attachment "E" and 10 made a part hereof. 11 SECTION 5: In all other respects, Resolution No. 6976, 12 as amended by Resolution Nos. 7010 and 7022 shall remain in full 13 force and effect, and the provisions of Resolution Nos. 6976, 7010 14 and 7022, not consistent with or in conflict with this resolution 15 are hereby repealed. 16 SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall 17 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and 18 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
