Resolution No. 70101 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 7101 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NOS. 6369 AND 7060 TO PROVIDE FOR THE SELECTION OF VACATION TRIP CREDITS IN LIEU OF AWARDS FROM A ROBBINS COMPANY BROCHURE IN THE CITY'S PERFECT ATTENDANCE INCENTIVE PROGRAM WHEREAS, the. City Council previously, on December 21, 1993, passed Resolution No. 6369 to create a perfect attendance incentive program wherein each employee with perfect attendance for a minimum of two years is authorized to select one award from the current Robbins Company brochures H-5 through H-18 (corresponding to that employee's years of perfect attendance); land WHEREAS, the City Council, on December 16, 1997, passed Resolution No. 7060, which authorized such employees to select one laward from a different set of Robbins Company brochures, Idenominated brochures M-5 through M-19, leisure brochures M-56 through M-69, and the catalog; and WHEREAS, through the creation of this program, the City (Council recognizes the value to the City of Vernon of employees who strive to be on the job every day; and WHEREAS, the City Council now wishes to revise the perfect attendance program to allow employees to apply the equivalent of the cost of the award they would be entitled to select from a Robbins Company brochure toward vacation or travel costs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF (THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: r , 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct. SECTION 2: The perfect attendance incentive program established by Resolution No. 6369, as amended by Resolution No. 7060, is hereby further amended to allow employees entitled to select an award from a Robbins Company brochure, in lieu of selecting that award, to apply the equivalent cost of the award toward travel or vacation costs, subject to the following conditions: A. All travel and vacation arrangements paid for by the city shall be made through a travel agency selected by or acceptable to the City Administrator or his designee. B. The benefit provided by this resolution shall have no cash value to employees. Any refund, rebate or bonus accruing to an employee who uses this benefit shall belong to the City. C. The equivalent cost of a Robbins Company award shall be the average cost to the City of awards in all Robbins Company brochures from which an employee is entitled to make a selection based upon number of years of perfect attendance. The cost to the City shall be determined by the most current price list published by the Robbins Company. The City Administrator, or his designee, shall maintain a schedule of the average cost of such awards and make the same available to City employees.
