RESOLUTION NO. 7
`A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF A.E. SCHMIDT
ENVIRONMENTAL FOR REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF
FUEL AND WASTE OIL TANKS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 544 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND
APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS, Contract No. 544 of the City of Vernon
was approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon
pursuant to Resolution No. 7045, and sealed bids were opened`
on December 18, 1997; and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Samuel Kevin
Wilson, Director of Community Services & Water, who has
reported to the City Council under the date of
December 23, 1997, recommending that Contract No. 544 for
Removal and Replacement of Fuel and Waste Oil Tanks be
executed with A.E. Schmidt Environmental on the basis of its
bid in the sum of Four Hundred Ninety -Two Thousand Six
Hundred Sixty Dollars ($492,660.00) being the lowest
responsible bid meeting the contract requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon-
does hereby award Contract No. 544 to A.E. Schmidt
Environmental, in accordance with the recommendation of
Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of Community Services & Water,
and authorizes -the Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf

of the City.
SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or
certified checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt
of an executed contract from A.E. Schmidt Environmental
accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
