RESOLUTION NO. 7067
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON RELEASING CROSSROADS ENGINEERING,
INC. FROM ITS BID ON CONTRACT NO. 545
WHEREAS, on December 2, 1997, by adoption of Resolution
No. 7055, the City Council of the City of Vernon requested bids on
Contract No. 545 for the paving of the pump house no. 2 yard; and
WHEREAS, a total of four bids were received and opened
on December 18, 1997, with the apparent low bidder being
Crossroads Engineering, Inc. ("Crossroads"), with a bid of
$39,600.00; and
WHEREAS, on December 19, 1997, Crossroads informed the
City in writing that a clerical error had been made in its bid;
and
WHEREAS, the City was advised of this error before
accepting the bid or awarding the contract in this matter; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that Crossroads
is entitled to rescind its bid on grounds of mutual mistake.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: Crossroads Engineering, Inc. is hereby
relieved of its bid submitted on Contract No. 545. Crossroads
Engineering, Inc. is hereby discharged from its bid bond, and the
City Clerk is ordered to return the original bid bond to
Crossroads Engineering, Inc.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
