Resolution No. 7102�r 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION • 710A A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 7083, RELATING TO THE CITY CLERK'S CANVASS OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, APRIL 14, 1998 WHEREAS, a general municipal election will be held in the City of Vernon on Tuesday, April 14, 1998; and WHEREAS, the City Council, by adoption of Resolution No. 7083 on February 3, 1998, ordered the -canvass of the election to be made by the City Clerk as the City's elections official, and directed the City Clerk to complete the canvass of the election prior to the Tuesday following the election and certify the results to the City Council on April 21, 1998; and WHEREAS, by adoption of Ordinance No. 1058 on March 24, 1998, the City Council has changed the date for certifying the results of the election from the first Tuesday following the election to the second Tuesday following the election; and WHEREAS, it is therefore necessary to amend the directions given to the City Clerk by Resolution No. 7083. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct. SECTION 2: Section 3 of Resolution No. 7083 is hereby amended to read as follows: "The City Clerk shall complete the canvass of the election prior to the second Tuesday following the 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 election, and shall certify the results to the City Council on April 28, 1998.11 SECTION 3: In all other respects, Resolution No. 7083 shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
