RESOLUTION NO. 7108
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON CONSENTING TO A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING ON
THE PROPOSED REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE PROPOSED
FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE INDUSTRIAL REDEVELOPMENT
PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Vernon
("Agency") is engaged in activities necessary or appropriate to
carry out the California Community Redevelopment Law (Health &
Safety Code, Sections 33000, et sea.) within the City of Vernon;
I and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 33330 of the Community
Redevelopment Law, the Agency has prepared a proposed
Redevelopment Plan for the proposed First Amendment to the
lIndustrial Redevelopment Project in the City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, Section 33355 of the Community Redevelopment Law
authorizes a joint public hearing on the proposed Redevelopment
Plan with the consent of the Agency and the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Agency has consented to a joint public
hearing on the proposed Redevelopment Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Agency has further requested the City
Council to call a joint public hearing of the Agency and City,
Council, at a date, time and place to be determined by the City
Council, to consider and act upon the proposed Redevelopment Plan
and all documents and evidence pertaining thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does

I, BRUCE V. MALKENHORST, City Clerk of the City of
Vernon, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution, being
Resolution No. 7108, was duly adopted by the City Council of the
City of Vernon at an adjourned regular meeting of the City Council
duly held on Tuesday, April 14, 1998, and thereafter was duly
signed by the Mayor of the City of Vernon.

hereby find and determine that the recitals contained hereinabove
are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council hereby consents to a joint
public hearing on the proposed Redevelopment Plan for the proposed
First Amendment to the Industrial Redevelopment Project, to
consider and act upon the proposed Redevelopment Plan and all
documents and evidence pertaining thereto.
SECTION 3: The City Administrator/City Clerk of the City
of Vernon or his designee is hereby authorized and directed, in
cooperation with the Executive Director of the Agency or his
designee, to set the date, time and place of such joint public
hearing, and prepare, publish and mail such notices and documents,
and do all other acts as may be necessary to carry out the
purposes of this Resolution.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

Resolution No. 7108 was adopted on April 14, 1998, consenting to
the holding of a joint public hearing on the proposed
Redevelopment Plan for the proposed First Amendment to the
Industrial Redevelopment Project, and the joint public hearing
was set for Tuesday, June 16, 1998.
As a majority of the City Council and Board of Directors of the
Redevelopment Agency of the City of Vernon may be unavailable on
June 16, 1998, it is recommended that the joint public hearing be
re -scheduled to Tuesday, June 23, 1998.
