Resolution No. 71751 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 7175 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT, PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by letter dated June 4, 1998, recommended to the Finance Committee that the property consisting of scrap metal parts from the Community Services Department be declared surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon as said scrap metal parts are no longer needed by the City of Vernon; and WHEREAS, the Community Services Department property is described on Exhibit "A," which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference; and WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent, has recommended that the said surplus property described in the attached Exhibit "A" be disposed of in the most economical manner; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon that the property described in the attached Exhibit "A" be sold as surplus property, pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct. t 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 SECTION 2: In accordance with Government Code Section 37350 and Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code, the City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property described in the attached Exhibit "A" is surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon. SECTION 3: The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to contract with an auction company, to obtain bids or to make other P Y� arrangements for the sale of the property described in said Exhibit as surplus property pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code. SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
