RESOLUTION N0, 7223
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF LETNER ROOFING
COMPANY IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 542 OF
THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, Letner Roofing Company was awarded
Contract No. 542 for work on Power Plant Reroofing pursuant
to Resolution No. 7043 of the City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of
Community Services & Water has reported to the City Council
of the City of Vernon on September 23, 1998 that said work
has been completed and recommends that the work be accepted
and payment be made to the Contractor in accordance with the
agreement.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The work of Letner Roofing Company
pursuant to Contract No. 542 is hereby approved and accepted
by the City Council of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 3: The total contract amount is One
Hundred Forty-two Thousand Dollars ($142,000.00). There is
now due to the Contractor a final partial payment totaling
Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars ($9,900.00) which is
payable at this time, and the remaining ten percent (10%) of
the total contract amount, or the sum of Fourteen Thousand
Two Hundred Dollars ($14,200.00) is payable thirty-five days

after the adoption of this resolution.
SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby directs payment of said sums as set forth to Letner
Roofing Company and instructs the City Clerk to file a
notice of completion with the County Recorder.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
