2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 549 OF THE
3 CITY OF VERNON FOR CONSTRUCTION OF CITY HALL
ADDITION AND REMODEL AND AUTHORIZING NOTICE
4 INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS IN ACCORDANCE
THEREWITH.

6 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City
7'Council of the City of Vernon Contract No. 549 for
8 Construction of ,City Hall Addition and Remodel; and
9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon
10 has determined that it is in the best interests of the City
11 of Vernon that said contract be advertised in accordance
12 with applicable State law.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
14 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
15 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
16 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
17 hereinabove are true and correct.
18 SECTION 2: Contract No. 549, Construction of City
19 Hall Addition and Remodel is hereby approved and accepted by
20 the City Council of the City of Vernon.
21 SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
22 hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of
23 the City of Vernon a copy of said contract.
24 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
25 is hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting
26 sealed proposals or bids for Construction of City Hall
27 Addition and Remodel in accordance with Contract No. 549
28 and in accordance with this resolution.

SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general
circulation printed, published or circulated in the City of
Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said
notice, or cause the same to be posted, in three of the most
public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest
corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast
corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the
bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of the City of
Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City.
SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
is hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the
first posting of said notice shall be not less than ten (10)
days before the opening of the bids for the proposed
contract. Said notice shall provide that sealed proposals
or bids will be received by the City of Vernon at the office
of the City Clerk of the City, at the City Hall,
4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, CA 90058-0805, until the hour
of 2:00 p.m. on the 27th day of January, 1999.

SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of December, 1998.
