Resolution No. 72851 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO, 72!S35 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE FOLLOWING DEPARTMENTS COMMUNITY SERVICES, CITY ADMINISTRATOR/CITY CLERK (FINANCE), FIRE, AND POLICE, PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE WHEREAS, pursuant to Vernon City Code Section 2.31 and Government Code Section 37350, the City of Vernon may sell surplus property for the common benefit; and WHEREAS, the Finance Committee has approved a recommendation dated February 18, 1999, that the property from the following departments be declared surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon as said items are obsolete, inoperable, or in poor and irreparable condition and are therefore no longer useful to the needs of the City of Vernon: 1. Community Services Department, which property is more particularly described on Exhibit "A", whichis attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference; 2. City Administrator/City Clerk Department (Finance), which property is more particularly described on Exhibit "B", which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference; 3. Fire Department, which property is more particularly described on Exhibit "C", which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference; 4. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct SECTION 2 In accordance with Government Code Section 37350 and Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code, the City Council of"the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "C" and "D" is surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon SECTION 3: The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to contract with an auction company, to obtain bids or to make other arrangements for the sale of the property described in said Exhibits as surplus property pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code. SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
