A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF
AMELCO CONSTRUCTION, A DIVISION OF AMELCO
INDUSTRIES FOR CONSTRUCTION OF CITY HALL
ADDITION AND REMODEL IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 549 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS, Contract No. 549 of the City of Vernon
was approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon
pursuant to Resolution No. 7239, and sealed bids were opened
on February 24, 1999; and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Samuel Kevin
Wilson, Director of Community Services, who has reported to
the City Council under the date of March 8, 1999,
recommending that Contract No. 549 for Construction of City
Hall Addition and Remodel be executed with Amelco
Construction, a Division of Amelco Industries, on the basis
of its bid in the sum of Five Million One Hundred Seventy-
six Thousand Dollars ($5,176,000.00), being the lowest
responsible bid meeting the contract requirements.
NOW,. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby award Contract No. 549 to Amelco Construction, a
Division of Amelco Industries, in accordance with the
recommendation of Samuel Kevin Wilson, Director of Community

Services, and>authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute
said Contract on behalf of the City.
SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
lexecution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or
certified checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt
of an executed contract from Amelco Construction, a Division
of Amelco Industries, accompanied by all required bonds and
certificates.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of March, 1999.
