Resolution No. 7329s t 1 RESOLUTION NO. 7329 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 3 VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE FOLLOWING DEPARTMENTS: COMMUNITY 4 SERVICES, CITY ADMINISTRATOR/CITY CLERK, UTILITIES, FIRE AND POLICE, PURSUANT TO SECTION 5 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE 6 WHEREAS, pursuant to Vernon City Code Section 2.31 and 7 Government Code Section 37350, the City of Vernon may sell surplus 8 property for the common benefit; and 9 WHEREAS, the Finance Committee on May 17, 1999, 10 recommended that the property from the following departments be 11 declared surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon as said items 12 are obsolete, inoperable, or in poor and irreparable condition and 13 are therefor no longer useful to the needs of the City of Vernon: 14 1. Community Services Department, which property is more 15 particularly described on Exhibit "A," which is attached hereto 16 and made a part hereof by reference; 17 2. City Administrator/City Clerk Department, which 18 property ismoreparticularly described on Exhibit "B,1 which is 19 attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference; 20 3. Utilities Department, which property is more 21 particularly described on Exhibit "C," which is attached hereto 22 and made a part hereof by reference; 23 4. Fire Department, which property is more particularly 24 described on Exhibit "D," which is attached hereto and made a part 25 hereof by reference; and 26 5. Police Department (including Jail), which property is 27 more particularly described on Exhibit "E," which is attached 28 hereto and made a part hereof by reference; and 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon that the property described in said Exhibits be sold as surplus property pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained hereinabove are true and correct. SECTION 2: In accordance with Government Code Section 37350 and Section 2.31 of the Vernon .City Code, the City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property described in the attached Exhibits "A," "B," "C," "D" and "E" is surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon. SECTION 3: The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to contract with an auction company, to obtain bids or to make other arrangements for the sale of the property described in said Exhibits as surplus property pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code. SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
