RESOLUTION NO. 7343
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF AN AGREEMENT FOR CONSULTING SERVICES FOR
DESIGN REVIEW OF DESIGN SUBMITTALS AND TRAFFIC
MANAGEMENT PLANS ASSOCIATED WITH THE ALAMEDA
CORRIDOR PROJECT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF
VERNON AND MK CENTENNIAL
WHEREAS, on August 5, 1998, the City of Vernon and the
Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority executed a Memorandum of
Understanding ("MOU") which gives the City certain review and
approval responsibilities of design submittals and traffic
management plans ("TMP") submitted by the design/build contractor
responsible for constructing the Alameda Corridor Project; and
WHEREAS, in order to satisfy its review and approval
responsibilities under the MOU, the City is in need of a
consultant to provide engineering services on an as -needed basis;
and
WHEREAS, MK Centennial has submitted a proposal to
perform design review of certain elements of the work of the
Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority on the Alameda Mid -
Corridor Design/Build Project; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Community Services has
recommended that the City of Vernon enter into an agreement with
MK Centennial to provide said design and traffic management plan
review services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
I THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
1 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
2 hereby approves the Agreement between the City of Vernon and MK
3 Centennial, a copy of which has been presented to the City Council
4 concurrently with this resolution, and the City Council hereby
5 orders said Agreement to be received and filed by the City Clerk.
6 SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon
7 hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said
8 Agreement for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
9 SECTION 4 The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
10 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
11 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
12 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 1st day of June 1, 1995.
