2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE 'BID OF PAVING CONTRACTORS,
3 INC. FOR TRAFFIC PAVEMENT STRIPING 1999-2000
IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 553 OF THE CITY
4 OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID
CONTRACT

6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 553 of the City of Vernon
7 was approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon
8 pursuant to Resolution No. 7346, and sealed bids were opened
9 on June 29, 1999; and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Samuel Kevin
11 Wilson, Director of Community Services, who has reported to
12 the City Council under the date of July 7, 1999,
13 recommending that Contract No. 553 for Traffic Pavement
14 Striping 1999-2000 be executed with Paving Contractors, Inc.
15 on the basis of its bid in the sum of Twenty-nine Thousand
16 Nine Hundred Seventy Eight Dollars Thirty-eight Cents
17 ($29,978.38), being the lowest responsible bid meeting the
18 contract requirements.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
20 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
21 SECTION 1 The City Council of the City of Vernon
22 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
23 hereinabove are true and correct.
24 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
25 does hereby award Contract No. 553 to Paving Contractors,
26 Inc., in accordance with the recommendation of Samuel Kevin
27 Wilson Director of C t Services and authorizes the om
munl y ,
28 Mayor and City Clerk to execute said Contract on behalf of

the City.
SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or
certified checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt
of an executed contract from Paving Contractors, Inc.
accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
