RESOLUTION NO. 7406
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AMENDING THE CITY OF VERNON FAMILY AND
MEDICAL LEAVE POLICY
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 6696 adopted on
October 17, 1995, the City Council of the City of Vernon approved and
adopted a Family and Medical Leave Policy; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 7295 adopted on March 16,
1999, the City Council of the City of Vernon amended the Family and
Medical Leave Policy by deleting Section XI, entitled "Maternity Leave
Policy and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 7344 adopted on June 1,
1999, the City Council of the City of Vernon further amended the
Family and Medical Leave Policy; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon desires to
adopt a short-term disability program and to document said program in
the Family and Medical Leave Policy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
approves and adopts the Amended City of Vernon Family and Medical
Leave Policy, a copy of which has been presented to the City Council
concurrently with this resolution, and the City Council hereby orders
said Amended Policy to be received and filed by the City Clerk.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby

1 authorizes the City Clerk to inform City employees about the
2 provisions of said Amended Policy.
3 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
4 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
5 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
6 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of August, 1999.
