A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A
PURCHASE ORDER AND THE EXECUTION OF AN EQUIPMENT
4 PURCHASE CONTRACT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON
AND INGALLS POWER PRODUCTS, C/O SIEMENS, INC., FOR
5 ONE (1) SIEMENS CIRCUIT BREAKER

7 WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 7350 adopted on June 15,
8 1999, the.City Council of the City of Vernon directed the Purchasing
9 Agent under Section 2.29-3 of the Vernon City Code, to enter into
10 negotiations with Ingalls Power Products for the purchase of one (1)
11 Siemens circuit breaker required by the Utilities Department for the
12 City's 69kV system; and
13 WHEREAS, the Purchasing Department has entered into and
14 completed negotiations with Ingalls Power Products; and
15 WHEREAS, pursuant to said negotiations, Ingalls Power
16 Products provided the City with a quotation dated June 25, 1999, on
17 behalf of Siemens, Inc., to sell to the City one (1) Siemens circuit
18 breaker required by the Utilities Department for a total cost of
19 Thirty Thousand Nine Hundred Forty -Eight Dollars and No Cents
20 ($30,948.00), not including tax or freight; and
21 WHEREAS, on July 13, 1999, the Finance Committee approved the
22 recommendation of Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Director of Finance, dated
23 June 29, 1999, that the one (1) Siemens circuit breaker be purchased
24 from Ingalls Power Products, c/o Siemens, Inc., at an approximate cost
25 of Thirty -Three Thousand Five Hundred One Dollars and No Cents
26 ($33,501.00), (including tax and freight).
27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
28 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
1 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
2 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
3 and correct.
4 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
5 approves the Equipment Purchase Contract for the purchase of one (1)
6 Siemens circuit breaker between the City of Vernon and Ingalls Power
7 Products, c/o Siemens, Inc., a copy of which has been presented to the
8 City Council concurrently with this Resolution, and the City Council
9 hereby orders said Agreement to be received and filed by the City
10 Clerk.
11 SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
12 authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said Agreement for,
13 and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
14 SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
15 authorizes the issuance of a purchase order for the one (1) Siemens
16 circuit breaker from Siemens, Inc.
17 SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
18 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
19 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
20 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7`h day of September, 1999.
