A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN
AMENDMENT NUMBER 2 TO AGREEMENT NO. 30577 BY AND
4 BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON AND THE COUNTY OF LOS
ANGELES FOR PARTICIPATION BY THE VERNON POLICE
5 DEPARTMENT IN THE JUSTICE DATA INTERFACE CONTROLLER
SYSTEM

7 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon and the County of Los Angeles
8 have entered into Agreement Number 30577 for the Vernon Police
9 Department to participate in the Sheriff's Justice Data Interface
10 Controller System ( "JDIC" ); and
11 WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 5626 adopted on June 6, 1989, the
12 City Council of the City of Vernon approved an Amendment Number 1 to
13 said Agreement for the implementation and upgrading of the JDIC and to
14 share the costs associated therewith; and
15 WHEREAS, to City of Vernon desires (1) to access JDIC via
16 the Sheriff's Data Network system; and (2) to perform its own
17 maintenance of JDIC equipment; and
18 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon and the County of Los Angeles
19 desire to enter into an Amendment Number 2 to implement the desired
20 modifications.
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
22 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
23 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
24 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
25 and correct.
26 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
27 approves the Amendment Number 2 to Agreement Number 30577, a copy of
28 which has been presented to the City Council concurrently with this

resolution, and the City Council hereby orders said Amendment to be
received and filed by the City Clerk.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said Amendment for,
and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

AMENDMENT NUMBER 2 TO AGREEMENT NUMBER 30577 BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF
LOS ANGELES AND THE CITY OF VERNON FOR PARTICIPATION BY THE VERNON
POLICE DEPARTMENT IN THE JUSTICE DATA INTERFACE CONTROLLER SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon, a municipal corporation, hereinafter referred to as "CITY", and
the County of Los Angeles, a political subdivision of the State of California, hereinafter referred
to as "COUNTY", have entered into Agreement Number 30577 for CITY, Police Department,
hereinafter referred to as "PD", to participate in the Sheriffs Justice Data Interface Controller
System (JDIC), which Agreement is incorporated herein by reference as if set forth in full; and
WHEREAS, CITY desires to change its capability to participate in JDIC, by accessing JDIC via
the Sheriffs Data Network (SDN) system, and in order to accomplish said goal is willing to
procure at its own expense additional equipment; and
WHEREAS, due to the increase in design compatibility between various computer equipment, it
has become unnecessary that maintenance of JDIC equipment be performed by COUNTY and
CITY will perform all required maintenance of JDIC equipment.
NOW THEREFORE, the parties hereby concur that the Agreement between COUNTY and CITY
is amended to include the following provisions:
Purchase and Maintenance of New Equipment:
1. PD shall purchase, at its own expense, all necessary computer equipment for use
in the JDIC System, including cables, connectors, and materials.
PD shall be responsible for the installation, acceptance testing, and maintenance
of the above -described equipment.
2. COUNTY shall purchase and maintain the following equipment:
DSU, Router, Frame Relay Data Circuit, and/or FRAD.
3. No warranty on the part of COUNTY is implied by this agreement.
Dispersion of Previously Maintained Equipment
PD has elected to retain and shall assume maintenance on all equipment
assigned to COUNTY in previous agreements, with the exception of the following:
