A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
3 CITY OF VERNON, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING
THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY
4 OF LOS ANGELES TO RENDER SPECIFIED
SERVICES TO THE CITY RELATING TO THE
5 CONDUCT OF A MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, APRIL 11, 2000

7 WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election is to be held in the
8 City of Vernon (the "City"), California, on April 11, 2000; and
9 WHEREAS, in the course of conduct of the election it is
10 necessary for the City to request services to the County of Los
11 Angeles; and
12 WHEREAS, all necessary expenses in performing these services
13 shall be paid by the City of Vernon.
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
15 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
16 SECTION 1: Pursuant to the provisions of Section 10002 of
17 the Elections Code of the State of California, this City Council
18 requests the Board of Supervisors of the County to permit the County
19 Election Department to prepare and furnish to the City for use in
20 conducting the election the computer record of the names and addresses
21 of all eligible registered voters in the City in order that the City
22 may print labels to be attached to self -mailer sample ballot
23 pamphlets; and will also furnish to the City printed indices of the
24 voters to be used by the precinct board at the polling place; and will
25 make available to the City additional election equipment and
26 assistance according to state law.

SECTION 2: The city shall reimburse the County for services
performed when the work is completed and upon presentation to the City
of a properly approved bill.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk is directed to forward without
delay to the Board of Supervisors and to the County Election
Department each a certified copy of this resolution.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
