Resolution No. 74431 RESOLUTION NO. 7443 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 3 VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT (VERNON CITY HALL 4 ADDITION AND REMODEL PROJECT), PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE 5 6 WHEREAS, pursuant to Vernon City Code Section 2.31 and 7 Government Code Section 37350, the City of Vernon may sell surplus 8 property for the common benefit; and 9 WHEREAS, the Finance Committee on November 9, 1999, 10 recommended that the property described in.a Report of Surplus 11 Property from the Community Services Department (Vernon City Hall 12 Addition and Remodel Project), which is attached hereto and made a 13 part hereof by reference as Exhibit "A," be declared surplus to the 14 needs of the City of Vernon as said items are no longer useful to the 15 needs of the City of Vernon; and 16 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent, has 17 recommended that the surplus property described in Exhibit "A" be 18 disposed of by bid; and 19 WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon 20 that the property described in Exhibit "A" be sold as surplus property 21 pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code. 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 23 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: 24 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby 25 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true 26 and correct. 27 SECTION 2: In accordance with Government Code Section 37350 28 and Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code, the City Council of the City I of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property described in 2 Exhibit "A" is surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon. 3 SECTION 3: The Purchasing Agent, or his designee, is hereby 4 authorized to obtain bids or to make other arrangements for the sale 5 of the property described in Exhibit "A" as surplus property pursuant 6 to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code. 7 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall 8 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and 9 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. 10 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of November, 1999. 11 12 i, LEONIS C. The City is requesting bids from interested parties for the salvaging of existing furnishing as listed in the bidder's proposal. The existing furnishing will be salvaged in phases A through E to coincide with the City Hall construction project. There is a three-week period to moving each phase of construction whereby personnel and furnishing will be temporarily relocated and existing furnishing will be salvaged. Upon notification by the City, the bidder will salvage the furnishing for a particular phase within seven (7) calendar days. The City reserves the right to add or exclude pieces of furniture from the salvage list. Any added or excluded shall be considered based on the established unit price. The City also reserves the right to change the phasing of when an individual piece of furniture will be released for salvage. Payment for the furnishing will be paid one week in advance of the scheduled releases of each phase. A schedule of work is shown below. The schedule is subject to change based on progress of the City Hall construction.
