A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 7359 BY AMENDING
4 PAGE 5 OF SCHEDULE II, EXHIBIT "B" OF SAID
RESOLUTION WHICH FIXED THE COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN
5 EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZED CERTAIN
EXPENSE ALLOWANCES

7 WHEREAS, Resolution No. 7359 was adopted by the City Council
8 of the City of Vernon on June 29, 1999, to be effective on July 1,
9 1999; and
10 WHEREAS, the Finance Committee on November 9, 1999,
11 recommended to the City Council that modifications to the Information
12 System Analyst classification and salary scale be approved; and
13 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to
14 amend page 5 of Schedule II, Exhibit "B" of Resolution No. 7359, to
15 add steps 9 and 10 to the position of Information System Analyst in
16 the Utilities Department with an appropriate salary scale.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
18 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
19 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
20 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
21 and correct.
22 SECTION 2: Effective January 3, 2000, page 5 of Schedule II,
23 Exhibit "B" of Resolution No. 7359 is hereby amended to add steps 9
24 and 10 to the position of Information System Analyst in the Utilities
25 Department as indicated on the amended page 5 of Schedule II, Exhibit
26 "B," which is attached hereto as Attachment "A" and made a part
27 hereof.
28 SECTION 3: The provisions of Resolution Nos. 7359, 7400,
7416 and 7425 not consistent with or in conflict with this resolution
are hereby repealed; in all other respects, Resolution No. 7359, as
amended by Resolution Nos. 7400, 7416 and 7425, shall remain in full
force and effect.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

The Utilities Department is requesting that the classification
and salary scale for the Information System Analyst be modified
by adding steps 9 and 10 (see attachment). This is being
requested to allow for "on-the-job training of new employees in
order to bring them up to the department's needs and demands.
It is hereby recommended that the modifications to the
Information System Analyst and salary scale be approved,
effective January 3, 2000.
