A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 VERNON AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A 2000 CHEVROLET
MALIBU FOR THE UTILITIES DEPARTMENT BY JOINING ON
4 THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL
SERVICES, PROCUREMENT DIVISION'S AWARD VEHICLE
5 CONTRACT NO. 01-00-23-10-01

7 WHEREAS, the Utilities Department of the City of Vernon has
8 advised that it needs to purchase a vehicle to replace electric
9 vehicle unit #217; and
10 WHEREAS, local agencies are sometimes offered the opportunity
11 to join with federal, state or county agencies in bid awards to reap
12 the same monetary benefit; and
13 WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of General
14 Services, sent out a list of vehicles available for purchase pursuant
15 to Public Contract Code Section 10324; and
16 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has been given the opportunity to
17 purchase a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu by aligning on to the State of
18 California, Department of General Services, Procurement Division's
19 awarded vehicle contract No. 1-00-23-10-01; and
20 WHEREAS, on November 9, 1999, the Finance Committee approved
21 the recommendation of Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Director of Finance,
22 dated November 2, 1999, that the Purchasing Agent, or his designee, be
23 authorized to purchase the 2000 Chevrolet Malibu at an approximate
24 cost of Fifteen Thousand Two Hundred Eight Dollars and Four Cents
25 ($15,208.,04) (including tax).
26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
27 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
28 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are true
and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
authorizes the Purchasing Agent, or his designee, to purchase the 2000
Chevrolet Malibu by issuance of a purchase order and authorizes the
Purchasing Agent, or his designee, to sign and deliver any and all
documents necessary in connection therewith for, and on behalf of, the
City of Vernon.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of November, 1999.

3 *VERNON AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A 2000 FORD CROWN
VICTORIA POLICE SEDAN BY JOINING ON TO LOS ANGELES
4 COUNTY BID NO. 200205 AWARDED TO WONDRIES FORD

6 WHEREAS, the Police Department of the City of Vernon has
7 advised that it needs to purchase a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria Police
8 Sedan to replace a patrol vehicle that was totaled in a vehicle
9 accident and determined to be irreparable; and
10 WHEREAS, local agencies are sometimes offered the opportunity
11 to join with federal, state or county agencies in bid awards to reap
12 the same monetary benefit; and
13 WHEREAS, Los Angeles County recently sent out a request for
14 proposal for police vehicles which was awarded to Wondries Ford as the
15 lowest responsible bidder; and
16 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has been given the opportunity to
17 purchase a 2000 Ford Crown Victoria Police Sedan from Wondries Ford
18 pursuant to the Cooperative Purchase Provisions of Los Angeles County
19 Bid No. 200205 and aligning on to said awarded bid with Wondries Ford;
20 and
21 WHEREAS, on November 9, 1999, the Finance Committee approved
22 the recommendation of Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Director of Finance,
23 dated November 4, 1999, that the Purchasing Agent, or his designee, be
24 authorized to purchase the 2000 Ford Crown Victoria Police Sedan at an
25 approximate cost of Twenty -Four Thousand Seven Hundred Eighty -Four
26 Dollars and Ninety -Two Cents ($24,784.92) (including tax).
27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
28 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
